
He began his musical training at musical college in Vladimir where his course of study included piano and violin playing and also theory of music. During that period he became a winner of two youth music competitions – «Brilliant Passage» held in Archangelsk and the one named after S. Rachmaninov in Novgorod.
In 2003-2008 he continued professional education at Piano department of Saint-Petersburg State Conservatory from which he received his Bachelor of Music degree. Semen frequently appears performing chamber music with numerous ensembles (string, folk and woodwind) and also in collaboration with opera singers.
In 2008 within the frame of «Ameropa» Festival held in Prague Semen performed Pulenk's woodwind sextet with the international ensemble of musicians on the stage of «Kaiserstadtpalas». He also tours actively as a solo pianist across Russian Federation.
It was the summer of 2008 when Semen won third prize performing at the International Competition Three Centuries Of Classic Romance' in duet with Sergey Muraviev (tenor).
Being a member of Piano department training program led by prof. I. Sharapova at Saint-Petersburg State Conservatory, Semen writes his dissertation on a subject of piano performing traditions in Poland – this work is supervised by prof. D. Chasovitin and performes in concerts and recitals on the stages of Glasunov Hall of St-Petersburg Conservatory, Small Hall of St. Petersburg Philharmonic Society and State Academic Cappella named after M. Glinka.
