Michail LANSKOI (baritone), Germany

Graduated from the Department of Singing of the Gnessins Institute where studied under Prof. D.I. Varshamov and Prof. N.N.Delicieva. He also studied in Bach-Academie in Stuttgart, Germany and in Austria and Italy. Among his teachers were F. Barbieri, J. Stämpfly and P. Lisitzian.

Mikhail Lanskoi has won prizes at several International Competitions.

In 1990 completed PhD studies at the Moscow State Conservatory. In 1993 in Germany was assigned the title of Doctor of Musical Sciences. During the period 1983-1992 was engaged as a soloist of the Moscow State Filharmony. He has been the first performer of the baritone part in V.Artemov’s «Requiem» and in the Russian premiere of Mahler’s 8th Simfony.

Since 1992 lives and works in Germany. Mikhail Lanskoi has successfully performed an immense opera (over 50 parts for baritone and bass-baritone), concert and oratorio repertory. He has performed at major European opera theatres and international music festivals in Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Ludvigsburg, London, Bern, Milan and Vienna. Has collaborated with renowned conductors D. Kitayenko, G. Rozdestvensky, H. Rilling, W. Gönnewein, A. Bramall.

In 2000 has taught at the Dortmund School of Music. Since 2003 has established himself as Professor of Singing and Music Theatre at the «Franz Liszt» School of Music in Weimar and at the Opera Studio of the State German National Theatre in Weimar, as well as at the Robert Schumann School of Music in Dusseldorf (the first Russian Professor of Singing to teach in Germany).

In 2008 has been invited as guest professor to the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan and to the Glasgow School of Music.
